Growing up!

too adorable

I cannot believe that im going to be a mother very soon, its all so exciting much as it is scary. believe it or not i planned it, no we planned it. It just seems that we were not prepaired because things are not going our way lately and its fustrating. LOOK ON THE BRIGHT SIDE THEY SAY!

Well ive been doing that and hey, my little angel brings me joy, im excited about giving birth. The whole delivering procedure, and having to breastfeed, change nappies and stuff. i know its not all cut out to be this easy but, i say bring it on.

My little boy really makes me happy, the thought of him growing inside me, and then him coming to join me. oh my word, il have a mini me in a male form.

Ive just entered my last month and im so anxious!

motherhood!

A new mother’s motto
Motherhood “Teach me well, my little one...
To cherish the moments I have with you,
for all too soon
they will swiftly pass away.

Remind me to pause and touch
your soft, small cheek,
to marvel at the innocence in your eyes
and the perfect beauty of your face.

Show me how to treasure more the miracle
that life has given me in you,
to complain less about and praise more
the boundless things you're sure to do.

In the stillness of the night,
when you wake me from my slumber,
help me to realize how truly blessed I am
to be able to hold you next to my breast
to comfort and cradle you close to my heart.

And as the seasons pass away,
may I never look back in regret
at what may have been.
May I instead leave a legacy
for you to follow
as you in turn will one day welcome
a little one of your very own?"

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born.  She never existed before.  The woman existed, but the mother, never.  A mother is something absolutely new.  ~Rajneesh
They call them mamazala, “ou lady”, mommy, mama, we all have our own pretty little ways of calling the woman who raised us. Whether biologically or not. Mothers play an important role in our lives they nature and provide, they teach us things, discipline and listen even when the world has given up on you.
Mothers are the only people who will always back you up no matter what. They live to make us happy, and to have a batter life. They work their butts off just so we could have a comfortable lifestyle. They do everything in their power to protect us from harm. We all love our mothers, young and old, biological or not, blue green. They role they play is not determined by how they look, who they are or what they do. It is determined by their maternal instinct, all mothers have that.
It is unfortunate for those who did not grow up without a mother. There is always someone closer to playing that role, a sister, an aunt, or a grandmother. A woman can mother, fertile or not, all these orphaned kids, who have never known a mother’s love. Be it through sickness or whatever circumstances, be it accidents or diseases.
Any woman can be a mother, but that doesn’t mean they will be a great mother. When the maternal instincts hit you, there’s no way of going back.
Some mothers become mothers with no choice, rape situations. Some are just not ready be mothers, in all aspects of their lives, mentally physically, emotionally and financially. That’s what most teenage mothers are facing; they are being constantly scrutinized by the public. Social grants are being blamed, and society shuns upon them as if they did a crime. Motherhood is a beautiful gift to
mankind; it should appreciate, whether ready or not. He/ she is here and should be loved and appreciated. Criticizing these young ladies won’t make them better moms, nor will it end teenage pregnancy. Guiding them, supporting them and lending a helping hand will better our communities. This can also decrease the number of abortions, and deaths during or resulting in abortions.
Choosing to be a mother is a very big step in young ladies life, or a grown up woman life. Ready or not, the decision of keeping it is the beginning of a beautiful journey that every woman looks forward to all her life. Not all of them. It’s long been assumed that motherhood brings meaning to our lives. We guide, love, nurture and support our offspring and sometimes feel appreciated in return” all elements that can fuel our connectedness and satisfaction in the world. It’s easy to find meaningful moments as a mom, but it’s when things are tough that it seems we don’t know how to interpret what meaning is. What if the greatest reward and meaning of being a mother is the growth our children force us to do?
Being a parent is a very hard job no matter how you slice it, but to further the true blessing that children are is to work equally hard on being conscious and mindful of the growth our kids call forth in us. Perhaps your patience needs work or your critical side needs to be quieted or you need to learn compassion or you could stand to give up some perfectionism. Parenting in a kind and loving way can only come if we face these issues in ourselves. Maybe this is the true meaning behind being in relationship with these souls. ( Laura Fortgang )

To lessen or misunderstand.

i still want it soo bad!

As a little girl, i think i was about 11, or 12 years old, fashion was my thing. i loved "skecthing" drawing fashion dresses and draw up my little models, in what i thought was the in thing. Sincemy my mom magazines, i would always rush thriugh the pages until i get to the fashion side of it. True Love magazine was i=the one magazine i loved, the fashion side of it ofcourse, the cover page would have some celebrity in some hot couture. I would look at the pictures and want to draw iot and thenmake it my own, that just inspired me. In grade 6, my mom suggested that she buy me a sewing machine , but i refused cause for some raeson, i was too chicken, i loved it , but i coudnt far with it. i think from then on, thats when i lost the edge of wanting this thing so bad. i continued "sketching" my hot coutures, until one ady i ahd to take it as career. T hen some old women, who studied fashin design back in her times, discouraged me. her reasons where that, fashion design does not have a market in South Africa and that i would study and end up jobless. for some stuoid reason i too her theory and scratched fashion design on my list of courses i wanted.

It has been, 3 years and im now im in my second year in Journalism, we have started with our practical work, and yes im loving it more than anything. Ive done radio, and Online, my did i fall inlove with fashion all over again. I did articles on  local fashion designers in soshanguve, i profiled a Guy from Senegal, damn, i wa suprised that a man from another country is doing fashion and loving it. That was not the only profile i did, Isaack Abbu, just made it al worth it. the guy designs the latest trends, for young people, hes also from another country, and yes its a man, lol  . . . . . ..

Lord knows i love fashion, ive recently come across, Vivien Westwood's designs, iesh this woman. She's old but she still good! See it for yourself

GREAT SHOES!

Many of you may wear Carvelas, but do you know the people behind the name. Carvela is thee shoe that mostly high school learners are annoying their parents about. Everyone wants a Carvela, i ask why, only a few tell me it’s because its class its make and well because it’s by Italians. That is not reason enough, i mean really now. Throughout my quest i have found that the main reason behind why so many young people are crazy over Carvelas, is that they are expensive, yes a thousand bucks or a thousand couple gets you a pair of the shoe that drives young South Africans mad. It is very essential that you know what you are wearing and what you are representing.

I was reading the paper, The Star and i made the discovery about who co-founded Spitz, and who’s behind the shoe Carvela. NOTE: this is for all the Carvela lovers.

Let me give you a brief background about where Carvela shoes come from. carvela shoes are sold only at Spitz stores. spitz was opened in the year 1968 by Anthony Spitz, and his cousin. The first Spitz store in Johannesburg's CBD, there are now more than 60 spits stores across the country. It is now owned by Avi, JSE-listed Company.

Spitz stores sells brands such as, Gucci, Alfred Dunhill, Lacoste,Cacherel,Estee Lauder,Bruno Magli, Ferragano,Sergio Rossi,Kurt Guiger, Billy of Switzerland and Carvela.

Carvella seems to hold a special place, as it is one of Spitz's most established brands, and much loved by customers. Mrco and Mino, the Italian father and son team are behind the shoe Carvela.

this what the original carvela shoe has chnaged into

this is the shoe that drives youngsters crazy.

Mothina Esther, from Micha Kgasi Secondary school, Nqobile Mokoa from Reitumetse high school and Amogelang Matjeke from Ntolo Mapula Motsepe high school

With their teachers

As part of National science week, Medunsa (University of Limpopo) hosted a group of high school learners. They had career guidance in the school of Pathology & Pre-clinical Sciences.

Medunsa chose to get involved with National science week because they have a mobile science lab that goes around schools in Pretoria and as far as Limpopo and Mpumalanga giving career guidance to less fortunate communities.

Also to educate them about the health and science faculty in Medunsa, since a lot of people think that Medunsa only offers courses in medicine only.

Marcus Motshwane Lecturer in statistics said emphasised the importance of the career guidance, when he said that it opens their minds and visions them about science when he said that the learner’s n Medunsa became the stakeholders of National science week 2007 to date.

The organiser of the event Florence Seseng said that they promoting science week as an exposure of resources to rural areas.

The event included motivational talks and presentations and a prize giving ceremony, were learners were asked questions about what was presented to them about the different courses.
The prize giving ceremony awarded learners the opportunities to presents their schools. Mothina Esther, who won the first prize in the maths part, said that she was glad about that Medunsa offered them the opportunity to come and learn about science and she was happy to have won the prize. about me!

I love fashion and I love journalism! I'm passionate and sometimes I get gullable and trust everybodies judgements. I enjoy soapies, lifestyle shows, food , clothes and well life itself fascinates me, I mean its so amazing, never really thought that karma exsisted. What happened today and what has been happening lately just goes to show that life really is like a wheel. Oh well, I've grown and learnt from my experiences. I woudnt be where I am today if it were not for experiences. I'm glad I went through all that. I want to be independant at some stage, live my life like its golden. Dress myself up in the hottest outfits. Drive an expensive car and live in porsh apartment, in a porsh house. I have dreams of writing for a magazine, maybe owning my own. I would love to be in the fashion industry and do marketing as a course and see where that leads me. I know my text is all over the place but I just thought that I should share this before I begin blogging about the things I love, fashion, food, travel, clothes and all things classic!

Online News and Journalism that exists in today in South Africa!

The publication is a Sunday time’s online news publication updating us on the breaking stories, on South Africa, International, sports and business news. What I first noticed about the site is that it has a lot of stories on international news. It is graphical, visual.  The site has advertisements and also has the weather update. The site gives you an option on viewing the latest news clips.
The eyewitness publication is not very colorful like times live, but it has the latest news on local news and international, there’s sports traffic and weather updates. What intrigued me about the site is that news stories are updated after every 5 minutes making it easy for one to keep updated on breaking stories in SA  and all around. The reason that it is called eyewitness news is that it their reporters  get the stories when they are still fresh and they speak to witnesses and the reporters also witness the news happening so that is why their site is more accredited. There are a few advertisements on the site. The site caters for anyone who wants news on the spot. The weather update is the only visual and graphical part of the site. It also has an option of viewing videos about the latest news stories.
The news24 online publication layout is colorful and intriguing . it is very visual and graphical. It has pictures of news e4vents. An option of viewing the news stories on video. There’s advertisements., news, opinions, business, sport, lifestyle, games, multimedia, special reports and jobs. There is the weather update which is updated whenever  the weather changes. They have sms alerts and email alerts. What I learned about the site is that it is informative  and entertaining because of the lifestyle news and the entertainment section.
